Last night, episode 1 of a two part documentary was broadcast, supposedly looking at the rise in dog attacks. In the few weeks leading up to it, the researchers contacted me several times as I am conducting an investigation into dog bites.

Even before this show has aired (thursday evening on Ch5 at 9pm) articles have appeared in the press. I am told that food manufacturers declined to appear, leaving non industry experts to comment. Those who have seen the advance screening seem to have some concerns. *Now broadcast and viewed. Continue reading
Media reports of people, especially children being injured or killed by dogs is something we all dread and wish we could stop. Sadly these incidents seem to be becoming more common. Various advisory panels have been set up to advise the government about dog ownership and it seems all the Government have come up with is to introduce compulsory microchipping soon. We are starting an investigation into the cause. Please help us to investigate. Continue reading
Last night I was contacted by various media about this tragic case. I have spoken this morning to BBC Radio Leicester about dogs and children living together.

Social media has been busy with stories about a cycling Raccoon at this show. It apparently was trained by a woman now a behaviourist who did this an as act on Britain’s Got Talent. Thankfully she didn’t get far. Continue reading
Councils around the UK run a Dog Warden (sometimes called Animal Warden) service. This provides a stray collection, some education and poop prosecutions. Or it should. Policing of dog problems by councils is a huge expense yet there is reluctance to fund a proper education solution. The recent coverage in the Daily Mail has again prompted discussion on what happens to the dogs that keep us safe when they become ill or retire. The rose tinted version of a dog living its life out by the fireside of its handler is far from the truth. I am writing this as the founder of Bravo Working Dog Rescue and as someone who has worked alongside working handlers and rescued these dogs for years.
Today I have sent an updated version of my open letter to governments and press. I feel that the least that should be done to end this trade in misery is for the creation of independent teams to be able to do spot checks. The team would be a vet, a behaviourist and a licensing official and be a compulsory part of breeding.
I first sent this over a year ago and nobody took me up on it. This slightly updated version has today been sent to the coalition government, the Welsh Assembly and the press and media. Please share it to put pressure on the governments at a time when the Welsh Assembly has again delayed discussions to change legislation and end this trade. Continue reading
Another sad tale of a now dead puppy bought from a puppy farm outlet. This company has been selling vast numbers of pups for many years. This one is in Lincolnshire, there are several others in Lincolnshire, all the same. You are not saving puppies this way, you are funding cruelty. Do not buy from these places. Continue reading
